Shaping my research

As I have been spending mulitple weeks researching my topic, I have noticed that my topic is too brod being Greek Mythology. I am now turning my paper into a paper about the Olypians and not the heros and monsters like I had first planned. My goal for my research paper is to learn about each olypians and describes each one. After learning about each one, I am going to do comparrisons and differences based on each of them and descibed the importance of each.

While doing my research I noticed that there are twelve olympians, Aphrodite, Apollo, Aris, Artemis, Athena, Hades, Hephaestus, Hera, Hermes, Hestia, Poseidon, and Zeus. Eahc Olympian is a god or goddess related to certain things for explain love and beauty,  music, war, etc. The Olympaisn came into power after the Titans were dethroned and ended the great war the was between the titans and the Olympians, which was actually called the titanomachy.

While learning all about this I believe that it shaped my learning. While learning about all different types of Greek Mythology I came across the Olympians which made it so that I could narrow down my topic into something that I could go more into depth with. I am extremly excited to see what else I learn while digging for more information and where my research will take me.

  1. Catherine, I'm excited to see where your research goes as well! Greek Mythology is such an interesting topic and I remember from middle school learning about the Titans and the Olympians. It could be a unique idea to talk not just about each Olympian and their importance, but the significant change between the Titans and the Olympians as a whole. I think having that extra connection will add depth to your paper! Either way this is a great topic and a little more focused compared to the monsters and heroes you mentioned before.

  2. I think you have a solid idea for your paper! I agree the Greek mythology is a very broad topic, so I think it is good that you narrowed down your topic. I think your idea of comparing the two powers is very interesting! How do you plan on comparing these? Will you compare the specific gods, or just the gods in general? Good luck on your paper!

  3. There is so much information on the Olympians. They're really very interesting. Are you going to focus on their personalities or what they have control over (ie.Ares has war)? There are also many stories about the gods instead of who they are and what they do. That might be another way to go. Most of theach stories easily captivate your attention.
