Ethics Opposing Viewpoints has no one author. Every chapter is taken from someone else's writing, or something they said. This allows the reader the consider many different perspectives on ethical issues. It covers a wide range of modern controversies, as well as moral basics, such as, what "ethical" means. It also looks at the US government in recent history, and in relatively modern time (written in 2006).
The book influenced my research by explaining the different motivations to behave ethically, and why some people don't. It made me wonder if one of the ethical motivations didn't exist, how would it change an individuals thoughts and actions? How would it affect a society's? And how would relations, both personal and national, differ from how they are now?
